The Kiwanis Club of Maspeth was founded in 1947 . The club began with just 56 members and has grown to its current membership of 60 . The Original officers were Ralph Friedland, President, Michael J. Napolean, Vice-President, Harvey Marion, Treasurer, and Edward J. Stephenson, Secretary. The directors were David Gimpel, Dr. Jerome Honig, George O'Neill, Alex e. Frontera, Irving Leberfeld, James V. Masone, and Bert J. Thackaberry
